The founding angel of Project-Angels Bearing Gifts, Evelynn
Smith-Herman, is the parent of a developmentally disabled adult. She is
employed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in Santa Barbara,
California. Evelynn has helped many parents of children with disabilities
and many adults with the grieving process and accepting the diagnosis. |
Evelynn is a past board member of New Directions, which sponsors travel
experiences for individuals who are developmentally challenged. She is
also an honorary member of the California Advisory Board of
Devereux in Santa Barbara, an agency
that operates residential facilities across the country for children and
adults who are developmentally challenged. She is a past board member
of Cornerstone House, an
agency which sponsors homes and summer camps for individuals with
developmental disabilities. She is currently a member of the board of
trustees for CALM (Child Abuse Listening Mediation).

Stan Cornyn is a full-life Californian, graduated from Pomona College, with post-grad work at Yale and UCLA (Masters) and USC. Stan Cornyn worked for 34 years within the Warner Music Group's various companies: at first with Warner Bros. Records, where he started as "Editorial," (mainly liner notes; two Grammies) rising up to the #2 job of Executive VP. |
From there, Cornyn moved up to Warner Communications as Sr. VP of its record group (including Atlantic, Elektra, manufacturing, distribution) where he led its introduction of the Compact Disc. Finally, Cornyn founded and ran a new products venture for Time-Warner called the Warner Music Group, developing precursors for DVDs and the like. Cornyn retired in the mid-1990s, and since has to his credit a Harper/Collins-published book on the history of Warner Music entitled "Exploding."

Debbie Hosseini is the parent of three children. The youngest, Kevin, has a diagnosis of autism. She is also on the steering committee of the California Autism Coalition and on the steering committee for Carpinteria Cares for Youth. She is a past advisory board member for the Childrens and Families Commission and is a past member of the Santa Barbara Parks & Recreation Adapted Advisory Board and Autism Society of America Santa Barbara. She is active in the art community and her son Kevin's art work can be seen at www.kevingallery.com. |
Linda Cowen Linda has a Bachelor of Social Science degree from University of Cape Town, South Africa and an M.A. in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She has been teaching special education students for 26 years and currently is the Resource Teacher at Santa Barbara Charter School. She has 2 daughters, one of whom is autistic and lives in her own home with supported living.

Meredith Catalini has been fortunate to be able to support people with disabilities for over 16 years. She has worked in several different settings including Residential Licensed Care Programs, Day Programs and Supportive Living Services. She enjoys the challenges of her current role as the Vice President of Operations for People Creating Success, Inc. Their agency provides support for individuals with disabilities in several different arenas, including Supportive Living, Adult Residential Facilities, and alternatives to Day Programs.

Julie Sorenson has lived in Santa Barbara for 13 years. Julie was raised up the coast in San Luis Obispo and graduated from Cal Poly. She has a Bachelor's degree in Human Development/Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. Her work experience began with direct care and management in group homes. Prior to her work with sbparent.com, she worked at Devereux for ten years, working primarily as a medical case manager. For the past three years, she has worked with sbparent.com doing Marketing/Sales. She has also done event planning for the Mother's Day 5K/10K event. She is married with two daughters.

Kenneth E Falstrom
Born in San Luis Obispo, California and a 4th
generation Californian, and currently a member State Bar of California and
Santa Barbara County Bar Association, Ken is an attorney at law engaged in
a solo private practice.? His other non-profit activities include acting
as current Secretary and a Board Member of Santa Barbara Channelkeeper,
Inc., having? formerly served as President and Member Trustee, Hope School
District Board of Trustees, as President and long term Board Member of
Environmental Defense Center, Inc., and of Los Padres Interpretive
Association, Inc., as Secretary and Board Member of Santa Barbara Wildlife
Care Network, Inc., and as a Board Member of Retired Senior Volunteer
Programs, Inc., Santa Barbara Chapter ACLU, and Legal Defense Center,
Inc., Summer Solstice Celebration, Inc and several other organizations.

Heather Neal was born and raised in Santa Barbara. She attended Santa Barbara City College as well as California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.She has been providing services for people with disabilities for 17 years, and 15 of those years have been with UCP/WORK, Inc. She is the Director of the Applied Ability Program in Santa Barbara and provides in-house training to staff.

Bill Wineland, over a period of 20 years, has been a CFO for several
companies involved in the petroleum industry, prior to that Bill was with
two of the major public accounting firms for 11 years. Bill graduated from
Colorado State University with a major in accounting. Bill has served on the
Board and numerous committees for both CALM and the Channel Islands YMCA. |

Maureen Janeway
moved with her family to Santa Barbara from the Chicago area six years ago where she had most recently been Vice President, Strategic Planning for Topin & Associates, a healthcare advertising agency. She and her husband Terry have two children: Chris, 18, a freshman at UC Berkeley, and Katie, their developmentally disabled daughter who passed away two years ago at the age of 14. |
They are active supporters of Katie's Fund, a program offered through Alpha Resource Center, that provides social and recreational opportunities for developmentally disabled teens. Maureen also serves on the boards of Alpha Resource Center and Catholic Charities of Santa Barbara.

Josette Troxler is a yoga/physical therapist with specialties in chronic pain and return to health programs. Following an intuitive path, Josette's methods intuitively tap into her clients' body intelligence to guide her in developing therapeutic solutions to often intractable problems Josette is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and received her masters of physical therapy at Samuel Merritt College in Oakland.
